State Police arrested two Monticello males for first-degree housebreaking –

On April 2, 2021, Liberty Barracks State Police responded at 9:30 a.m. on Harmony Lane in the village of Monticello to get a report of a gunshot victim. When the soldiers arrived, they learned that the victim of the shooting was being taken to hospital by another person in a pickup truck. Soldiers located the vehicle when it arrived at Garnet Health Medical Center Catskill. The operator of the vehicle, later identified as Andre Fogo, 32 years old, explained his passenger, Rachain Wilson The 28-year-old, both from the village of Monticello, was shot dead in the Harmony Apartments. The investigation found that both Fogo and Wilson forced their way into an apartment to confront the resident about an earlier altercation. Fogo and Wilson started beating the resident of the apartment. Another person in the apartment fired his gun and hit Wilson. Fogo and Wilson then fled the area. The person who fired the gun is a licensed gun owner and has provided the state police with all the necessary documents.

Wilson was treated with non-life threatening injuries and released. State Police took Andre Fogo and Rachain Wilson into custody and charged them both with Grade B burglary and class B crimes. Both were charged and bailed into Sullivan County Jail.

The New York State Police were assisted by the Monticello Village Police Department, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, and the Sullivan County District Attorney.

This is an ongoing investigation.
